KDE Desktop

I am using M( beta 1 with all the latest updates. I use the KDE desktop with the Oxygen theme.

I created a folder called "Programs" on my desktop (/home/lloyd/Desktop/Programs)

I copy a lot of programs I frequently use into this folder so my desktop is (slightly) more organized. Hoewver, when I click on this folder, it doesn't open (it used to)

Instead, what happens is that two small circles with a + and - sign show up beside it. One of them shows what's inside the folder. Is this normal behavior?

Also, all my icons (which were locked) ended up going from columns (which I prefer) to rows instead. I've had this happen before after a crash (there was no crash this time)

Any ideas what would cause that?

The desktop can be set to behave as desktop or folder.

Here on mga8, Swedish, I left click on the desktop and in the popup menu select top item to change that setting; top section, top item "Layout".
