My mouse shares a Bluetooth dongle with the Keyboard and it is dropping out now, needs to be turned off and on to work again, every time I use the the Keyboard.

Staples generic, Cauldron 9ish

I cant find a way to diagnose this, and love some directions to .... ?

So only the mouse loses connection but the keyboard still works at that time, over the same bluetooth dongle ?
Even when you're using the mouse at that time, or only when it's idle ? You could try to disable the idle timeout, although that should apply for both devices ... so not sure why the keyboard still works

Apart from that, do you use something like tlp for energy saving? (I don't know if this is installed by default in cauldron nowadays)
You may need to check if the bluetooth dongle is automatically put in energy saving mode, e.g. like shown here: https://ubuntu-mate.community/t/bluetoo ... ode/9168/2

I don't see anything from those links software suggestions applicable to my install, and the symptoms described don't line up.

On the other hand, I have little problem anymore with the mouse loosing connection. Edit, no its still here.

I went so far as to install tlp to no effect.
