[closed] urpmi says missing dep, Wayland cant install

A requested package cannot be installed:
plasma-workspace-wayland-5.26.4.1-1.mga9.x86_64 (due to unsatisfied kwin-wayland[>= 5.26.4.1])

But MCC says it is.

Nine is looking top notch, nothing but admiration. :D

[My bad?]
OK it looks like it means 5.26.4.1.1 not 5.26.4.1

Waiting for 5.26.4.1.1

AGAIN Naming peroblem removes file plasma-wayland-workspace, and cant be installed

adding this "the again" as new comment on this thread

I opened a bugreport as there seems to be a version numbering problem.

Thanks.

The bug required me to install plasma again, and wayland kwin again.

Again.
Naming problem removes file plasma-wayland-workspace, and cant be installed

no kde plasma wayland.
The following package cannot be installed because it depends on packages
that are older than the installed ones:
plasma-workspace-wayland-5.26.5-1.mga9

That is usually because you have installed some packages from updates_testing or backports or such.
Or simply a cauldron issue where some plasma packages are being rebuilt, and that's not complete yet or your mirror is not completely synced.
And it's not a naming problem, but a version mismatch with one of its dependencies:
[...] cannot be installed because it depends on packages that are older than the installed ones

If you use cauldron, you should follow the dev mailing list, which mentions e.g. https://ml.mageia.org/l/arc/dev/2023-01/msg00062.html

I am on the Mageia 9 distro, using auto-update. often.

Had wayland, lost it, which took KDE too, reinstalled KDE, got wayland back, now wayland is gone, because I think kwin-wayland again.

I am using MCC >> 'Configure media sources for install and update' >> 'ADD' to select.
No backport enabled. Just release and update (32 bit sources included too)

No, you're on cauldron, Mageia 9 has not been released yet and is currently in alpha stage.
You should read https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Cauldron#Who ... ldn.27t.3F

It is cauldron, but I used
urpmi.addmedia --distrib --mirrorlist http://mirrors.mageia.org/api/mageia.9.$ARCH.list

Its a test bed, not a primary device, even only looking at wayland for progress. It will open MCC now for example. They all get 9 soon enough.

Those are the same.

Hmm, the directory at Princeton has subdirectories for both cauldron and 9.
9 alpha was released and announced, and testing called for.

Yes, but the content is 100% the same. Only the infrastructure was prepared for Mageia 9. You are using cauldron.

Yes, as I said, its cauldron. And this is
Board index ‹ contributing to Mageia ‹ Testing : Alpha, Beta, RC and Cauldron

And 9 alpha was announced, and testing encouraged, and I began to test.

I find this strange now.

Maybe the blog post could be rewritten to be less inviting.
