Cauldron Plasma fails to run

Cauldron was running o/k with no problems when I last tried it but today on booting and doing a large update Plasma fails to run. It stops at a blank screen with the mouse cursor which is moveable and crt-alt-delete gets the options allowing me to be able to shut down. IceWM boots o/k and everything seems to work any help would be appreciated.

When running cauldron, always check dev mailing list before performing updates!

It is intended to be broken sometimes, and there is a lot of stuff cooking now.
When it is ready, do an update or reinstall...

Yes IceWM is a nice fallback

Yep, it's really clear what's going on when you follow the dev ML. And you should have been very cautions when MCC asked you to remove many packages because of missing dependencies. Sooo, wait until all packages are rebuild and do an update or reinstallation as suggested by morgano.

Thanks for your response, it's no great problem as I still have Mageia 8 on another disk but I will join the mailing lists.
