[SOLVED]Unable to install drakconf due to unmet dependencies

Postby hakerdefo » Aug 9th, '21, 03:35

Installed Mageia cauldron 64 bit via net-install today. system is up to date and didn't have any problems installing my required packages. But while installing drakconf I'm receiving the following message from URPMI,
Code: Select all
A requested package cannot be installed:
python3-requests-2.26.0-1.mga9.noarch (due to unsatisfied python3.9dist(charset-normalizer)[>= 2])
Continue installation anyway? (Y/n)

I've pressed 'n' and stooped the installation fearing the broken install.

So what's wrong here?

It's already shown in your excerpt:
Either python3-requests needs a rebuild or python3-charset-normalizer needs a rebuild, or your mirror is in an inconsistent state.
python3-charset-normalizer provides python3.9dist(charset-normalizer)[>= 2] : http://sophie.zarb.org/rpms/1a8cbbac978 ... f68ad/deps
So I'd say either the first or the last is possible.

And if you fear a broken install you probably shouldn't be using cauldron in the first place, have a look at my signature.
Cauldron is not for the faint of heart!
Caution: Hot, bubbling magic inside. May explode or cook your kittens!

Unable to edit my post and mark the topic solved as I perhaps don't have enough credits yet to do so. Consider this one solved.

You are good now. First 2 posts of a new user have to be approved.
