I have seen on web btrfs used grub 1.99. Ubuntu natty have grub 1.98 why mageia not have grub2 1.98 or 1.99 rc?

It's a real problem because when somebody comes from Ubuntu for example to test Mageia, of course the dual boot doesn't work and Mageia is discredited. Unless of course the guy is a geek but it isn't the general case.

And the other way around. GRUB2 still has some problems, and that's the reason why a dualboot with grub1 and grub2 doesn't work properly. So, one could say it's the job of canonical to get rid of this bug and not of the other distributions to switch to a still "bugy" software ... to put it bluntly.

Nevertheless, Mageia won't switch grub until Mageia1 has been released. After that, it will be discussed for sure. But keep in mind,it's a big task to manage and push such a switch (remember the drake tools, which has to be adapted) with an limited effect for the users.
