Todays updates came in and I started the update GUI. First thing I see is a message that I have to choose between
lib64edata-cal%[edatacalmajor}-3.3.1.1-1mga2.x86_64
and
lib64edata-cal14-3.3.1.1-2.mga2.x86_64 (the different brackets in the first package name are not a typo!).
Same with next package (also edata libraries).

Not knowing what either package does nor what the difference could be I clicked on "Information..." but received the information "No description available for this package". This is not very helpful and I do not like to throw dices when it comes to computer software. Anybody with the same experience? Is this a usual cauldron thing or should I report in Bugzilla (and where in Bugzilla)?

Updated Cauldron myself this morning, though on 32-bits, that is.
No such messages during the update-process.
For what it is worth, information from within Software Management in MCC for both packages.

Yes, but thx for your post nevertheless.

What I expected to see by using the "Information..." button was an explanation of the difference between the packages, reading the same description for both does not help to decide which one to install. I experienced this quite often and was always annoyed by this non-existing "Information". It's the same with urpmi.

IMHO this is partly fall-out from the "freedom of choice" maxim applying to mostly all linux distributions.
What i can say: such thing should not happen on stable updates (choosing between 2 packages for the same purpose,
or even worse, choosing from more than two packages without any clue of the differences, which wobo is asking for)
And yes, i recognize the described problem in general, too.

Any user can update the system and I think it doesn't make sense to ask a non technical user to choose between technical differences, worst, between no differences.
What is the purpose of asking such stressful questions ? Can't the system choose itself or at least suggest a recommended answer ?
