[SOLVED] Latest kernel devel packages missing headers.

Postby pnunn » Oct 26th, '11, 00:28

Hi guys,

I've just installed the latest kernel and dev packaged and once again have an issue trying to get the virtual box driver to install.

Both the dkms and non-dkms installs failed and in both cases the log files have
Code: Select all
/var/lib/dkms/vboxhost/4.1.0/build/vboxpci/linux/VBoxPci-linux.c:38:27: fatal error: asm/amd_iommu.h: No such file or directory
compilation terminated.

When I do a locate on amd_iommu I get

Code: Select all
$ locate amd_iommu.h
/usr/src/kernel-linus-devel-3.0.4-1.mga2/arch/x86/include/asm/amd_iommu.h
/usr/src/linux-3.0.4-desktop-1.mga2/arch/x86/include/asm/amd_iommu.h
/usr/src/linux-3.0.6-desktop-1.mga2/arch/x86/include/asm/amd_iommu.h

Which are the last kernels on the system that successfully compiled the driver.

Can we please get this fixed?

Ta

Peter.

Uninstalling the version of Virtual Box I was using and installing the latest from the repo's (as suggested by Thomas Backlund in response to the bug report has solved this issue.
