[SOLVED] Downgrade MGA Couldron to stable

Hi, I have successfully installed MGA Couldron beta 2, i have read it will be beta 3 and then I hope it will start the RC series. At the end the Release Candidate series I have read in the Mageia blog that I stay in the Couldron channel, so my packets will change to mga8.

Yeah, updates will move you thru beta 2, 3 and final release version. So no need to reinstall then. But you’ll might need to adjust repositories to stay there. Otherwise the install will follow Cauldron.

I've search info for the downgrade and I have find this:

Code: Select all
# urpmi.removemedia -a

Add the Mageia 7 online sources, either:
# urpmi.addmedia --distrib --mirrorlist 'http://mirrors.mageia.org/api/mageia.7.$ARCH.list'

It is correct? It is all fine?

And when I must add the Mageia 7 online sources and remove Couldron media?

You want to remove all your repos during the freeze for the final release, after the last release candidate. Afterwards there's usually a grace period of 1 or 2 weeks until cauldron reopens, so you have some time to do it.

I've also moved your thread to the cauldron subforum ;)

TY Doktor. You confirm the procedure that I have quoted. I have a grace period of 1 o 2 weeks. I should check the MGA 7 development process week by week. It is a work!! But I'm very happy for this release, so TY Mageia Team! (and the community)

If there is nothing to add I mark this 3ad as [RESOLVED].

you may like to check your current on-line-repos- they are likely already "7",
If so, no more to be done.

Very good, so I'm not in the Cauldron chancel. I'm in the stable channel.

Edit: so the people like me can switch to the 7/cauldron channel after the alpha steps and stay in this channel. Automatically I can update to the stable channel: very well :).

The only thing I would add, is, maybe add the "tainted" repos for things like audio / video codecs.

and also, maybe the 32bit repos to install things like Wine32 etc (6 check boxes)
