newly updated Cauldron disabled mouse pointer in mc

I have just successfully converted an MGA6 clone to MGA7 (Cauldron) and the first significant downside I have discovered is that Midnight Commander no longer responds to mouse clicks in an LXTerminal window.

What I don't know is whether this is a new default configuration in Mageia for LXTerminal, for Midnight Commander, or just a bug. Is it an issue for anyone else using other than LXDE?

It begins to look like a change to Midnight Commander behaviour.

When I use the MGA6 box with LXTerminal 0.3.1 and ssh to the MGA7 Cauldron box, I can get mc to run in my 0.3.1 terminal and it doesn't interpret any mouse clicks.

However:
When I run mc in a local xterm on the MGA7 box, I get normal selection and execution behaviour with the usual left and double-left clicks. This suggests that it is a problem with LXTerminal in Cauldron; a contradiction.

I tried to discover which of mc or lxterminal in Cauldron has changed. When I ssh from Cauldron to the MGA6 box and run mc in the Cauldron LXTerminal (0.3.2), it behaves "normally" and lets me navigate and click menus and command buttons with the mouse, so we are back to blaming Midnight Commander for the new stubbornness.

But it works fine in Cauldron using xterm!

On the other hand, my display driver is acting up a bit and now I cannot get Blender to start. It worked on Sunday.

For now I will start getting used to xterm, I reckon.
