I only have Plasma 5.8. Is there a way to get other choices of DE or do I have to wait for the Beta release ?

I assume the Beta release iso will have a choice at boot-up as to what DE you want to use in that session.

Which desktop environments do you have installed? And FWIW there will be no beta, only a sta2 snapshot and then probably a release candidate.
Although this has nothing do to with the software selection you choose, also there will be no difference in the later releases as probably no further desktop environments will be packaged, as we already have quite a lot in our repos.

Provided you have set up online media, [core-release] choices are either from root terminal [urpmi] or from Mageia Control Centre - add software.

task-lxde, task-mate, task-cinnamon, task-xfce, task-gnome are the main ones.

do you have others in mind?
