[SOLVED]mga6 sta1 Live: Virtualbox: KDE/Plasma 64bit problem

I have tried all the Live DVDs, Plasma and Gnome 32bit / 64bit. I successfully installed all under virtualbox except for the 64bit KDE/Plasma version. (EDIT: I am not even able to start a live session with this version)

For boot option "Boot Mageia 6 Cauldron", it goes through the series of prompts asking for language, time zone, keyboard etc but when it comes time to start the graphical session, it only goes as far as showing the mouse against a black screen. I can switch to tty2 and I am able to see that the session appears to be running, including the Mageia welcome box. But nothing is visible, nor clickable.
Another thing to note is that the mouse pointer changes back from KDE-style to normal black pointer at the point of reaching the black screen.

For boot option "Install Mageia 6 Cauldron", it once again goes through the prompts about language, timezone and keyboard, but once complete, a black box opens in the middle of the screen, and it becomes frozen while the mouse pointer can still be moved.

I have fixed this issue by raising the Virtual Machine's allotted memory from 1024M to 1536M. The black screen was the loading screen but without enough memory, the desktop never could present itself.

One of the clues was constant reading from the virtual cd-rom drive. I have seen that happen before where there is not enough memory to load the system properly.
