Hello ,
If I try to run the update 4. 7. 0-desktop-0. RC7. 6. mga6 (after choosing -4. 7. 0-desktop-0. RC7. 6. mga6) MGA shows me a gray screen with in the center three question marks and then I have a message that says there was a graphic display problem. After several attempts to regain control, I finally access the console. The screen displayed a message asking to type drakx11, and choose a mode and then type systemconfigctl default;
I then arrived on the login screen, but with US keyboard ,. . etc.
I returned to the previous version 7. 7. 0-desktop. rc 7. 5 it works well on the 1 shot!
but if it can help here. . . . .

Hello taboutanche,

I have the same issue with a AMD/ATI graphic card
Code: Select all
[root@localhost ~]# lspci -nnk | grep -iA3 vga
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Thames [Radeon HD 7550M/7570M/7650M] [1002:6841]
        Subsystem: Sony Corporation Device [104d:90ac]
        Kernel driver in use: radeon
        Kernel modules: radeon
[root@localhost ~]#

it acts as described in this bug report: https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=17233
An older kernel boots just normally. Thomas Backlund (tmb) wrote in the mailing list, that it will be fixed with xinitrc-2.4.21-17.mga6. Not confirmed yet, as I wait for another test.

Greetings
Bequimão

Two testers on the French forum with AMD GPUs who had the issue also reported it's solved since yesterday update (link).
