Kactivities: Could not add any new activity

Postby Bequimao » Jun 10th, '16, 09:22

Hi,

I could not add any new activity in a install from Mageia-6-sta1-x86_64-DVD (Plasma 5). I solved this problem by installing or re-installing kactivitymanagerd. Now I don't remember if it was missing or gone with an update. Can anybody confirm this issue?

I switched to dnf as packagemanager and don't know how to retrieve the history log.

Best regards

No, my post was unclear. I installed kactivitymanagerd with urpmi and switched to dnf afterwards. If there was any removal, it must have been with urpmi.

Only items installed with DNF will show up in the "dnf history". Things installed via PackageKit (through pkcon or one of the GUI frontends) will get properly written to DNF's database, but the transaction information isn't recorded there yet. That's in development, and will probably be part of Mageia 7.

DNF is included on all the live images, and on the classic installs, it's only a "urpmi dnf" away. I encourage you to try using dnf and see how well it works for you. :)
