I am really impressed by Mageia 6 !

My wifes laptop GPU burned and due to difficulties moving the disk between spare laptops more than once the configurations screwed up so much i decided I had to reinstall now when it finally found a home in a Thinkpad T60. After making a backup, I chosed to install mga6dev1 (plus ninehundred updates after reboot) as fresh install while reusing all partitions and keeping home content. Home and swap is in encrypted LVM, and / and some user files in an unencrypted LVM. I love the installer for making it pretty easy to do this.
- and Mageia 6 basically just works brilliantly! and is in production now.

Thank you everybody! :D

A couple small issues: Spotify (need old version of a lib) ( EDIT: Workaround: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=11003 ),
and browser flash (for some reason freshplayer did not work).
EDIT: simply uninstalled fresplayer and installed flashplayer-plugin (did not see it earlier); OK now

Suspend is perfect, but after wakening from hibernate it seem to fail to ask for encryption key for the disk and get stuck there - will make bug report.
EDIT: now it resumes from hibernation prefectly. But it do not ask for encryption key, it seem to have stored it. I am not sure that is good, but my swap is unencrypted anyway because of problems earlier years. Need to experiment with swap on encrypted LVM on a nonproduction system...

A few minor problems i presume is known

* K menu History tab do not seem to be working

* mgaonline is shown in tray but do not respond to click

* There are two different working volume icons in tray
EDIT - sometimes, and sometimes only one... hmmm /EDIT

* dropbox works but no icon in tray
EDIT FIXED: after having installed the package "dropbox" and in KDE system settings section start and stop
removed the old entry for starting dropbox,
(was working on mageia 5: "sleep 10 ; ~/.dropbox-dist/dropboxd )
and keeping the new automatically made entry "dropbox start -i"
the icon is present and works both at fresh install, resume, and logout/login.
/EDIT

* at install i got africaans language installed

For discussion
* The K menu have a tab named "Computer" with links to home folder etc. Shoulnt it better be named "files"?
(Under "Computer" i would expect hardware check and configuration, and mageia and desktop tools)

It's pretty late in the development cycle and also the wrong place to discuss this, better suggest this upstream to KDE developers.
See also viewtopic.php?f=15&t=10947 for that.

And FWIW on windows "computer" is what calls the explorer from the start menu, and as KDE is in some regards pretty close/similar to windows usability, this makes sense as it is IMHO.
Cauldron is not for the faint of heart!
Caution: Hot, bubbling magic inside. May explode or cook your kittens!

Yeah, and all "STOP" signs at crossings should be changed to "START" ;)
