Hi.
I have a problem, and so far I used the kernel - kernel-desktop-3.0.1-1.mga2-1-1.mga2 - along with a package kernel-firmware-extra-20110817-1.mga2.nonfree. And there were no problems.
It is true that in the updates repository lay new kernel 3.0.4 - but often do not like to configure everything from scratch, so do not install.
But the problem with the system forced me to format and reinstall.
The problem concerns the use WiFi USB adapter TP-Link TL WN722M. What is interesting is handled differently. In many places I read that in one kernel running, and on another you have to manually compile.
No nothing. On a laptop with kernel kernel-desktop-2.6.38.8-4.mga-1-1.mga1 - and the package kernel-default-extra firmware works.
On the PC to work on kernel-desktop-2.6.38.7-1.mga-1-1.mga1 - along with a package kernel-firmware-extra-20110517-1.mga1. After updates with kernel 3.0.0 and 3.0.1 - work on kernel-firmware-extra-20110817-1.mga2.nonfree.
Unfortunately, as I said I installed the new system and tightened all the updates, or from the machine got kernel 3.0.4 - no stairs begin. Because the network connection wizard does not see the USB WiFi adapter.
The command "lsusb" returns the result that it is connected. Well nothing, version firmaware-kernel-extra is a kernel-firmware-extra-20110517-1.mga1. Hmm that is something wrong.
So I ran the system again, except that I chose when running the previous kernel, 2.6.38 or well and good, WiFi card detected. Internet Connection established successfully sail. Ok, well, but what with the new kernel? And no nothing. Looking for the net version I had previously worked on the 3.0.1 or - unfortunately no longer in any repo. So you need to combine. I started the system from scratch on kernel 3.0.4 - still does not detect the WiFi. Well nothing I come back to the old kernel.
On the old kernel dialed into their netem to find solutions that suddenly appeared in their available updates and new version of the kernel-firmaware-extra (kernel-firmware-extra-20110817-1.mga2.nonfree.noarch). So I downloaded it cool. WiFi installed and running internet on the old kernel. Restart and check for 3.0.4 - and it works! Super, I managed to download firefox and internet disconeted...
The connection has been disconnected and I could not connect. That is, the WiFi card is detectable, I can manage it, I see my WiFi network, but can not connect. Because leap can not connect to the network.
Well then, go back to the old kernel. The system is launched, an automatic connection to successfully connect to literally 4 seconds, after which the net is hung. No. lime ... net does not work.
So I have uninstalled the new kernel-extra firmware. I want to install the old ... Unfortunately, the system offers me the installation immediately required different kernels such as kernel-linus 3.0.4, kernel, server, etc. .. No matter who I chose, the system repeats the choice of asking for another - so much that have already disappeared from the list selected. Vicious circle, so until all of the pot. However, nothing is installed. Ehh.
Without the kernel-firmware-extra inches in principle does not detect a USB WiFi card, but the "lsusb" - that is lime. So I tried to install a new firmware-extra (kernel-firmware-extra-20110817-1.mga2) - and surprisingly installed without spitting. Reboot and I see the WiFi card is about the connection attempt, and again no 4s, and then disconnect.
Does anyone have an idea how to get out of this vicious circle? I've tried even at the end of the install kernel-firmware and kernel-firmware-extra from Mandriva 2011 Cooker and also with the designation in 2012 no and continue the same.
