Running VirtualBox 5.0.8 on a Mageia 5 Official host.

Cauldron runs initially, then after a few sessions, it gives me

Code: Select all
"Failed to open a session" for the VM.

Error message:

General failure - DON'T USE THIS!!!. (VERR_GENERAL_FAILURE).

Result Code:
NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005)
Component:
ConsoleWrap
Interface:
IConsole {872da645-4a9b-1727-bee2-5585105b9eed}

My other VMs have no problem.

Hi

Try: Remove Virtual box and then logout + login and reinstall.
Also install guest additions from repos, and if you have USB 3.0 devices, you might like to consider also to add the extension pack from Oracle.
You wont need to remake your virtual harddrive.
Once Virtual box is completely re-installed, locate your virtual hard-drive and it should open directly with Virtual box.
If not, the virtual box gui will advise where the problem may lie- usually a yellow warning triangle on one of the settings pages.

Edit: check also that permissions / ownership of your Virtualbox Cauldron matches your user.

Seems to have fixed itself. I have guest additions and the extension pack (for USB support.)
