[SOLVED] xdg-desktop-portal-kde Not Installed W/Update

Postby yankee495 » Feb 7th, '23, 03:00

Hello,

I right clicked a file and selected Open With...Other Application. Nothing happend.
I checked the logs and found Error: "The name org.freedesktop.impl.portal.desktop.kde was not provided by any .service files"

After a little research I noticed xdg-desktop-portal-kde-5.26.90-1.mga9.x86_64 was not installed during the KDE 5.26.90 update.
I know it worked before the update because I'm playing with everything I can find and looking at the new features.
I don't know what other problems this causes, I got stuck on the first one I noticed.
Installing that package will likely fix a lot of other things I didn't find.

Mageia 9 is running great. I've been using it for a while and swapped from Intel to AMD during this time. I removed the old i7-3770K and Asrock Z77 Extreme 4 motherboard and installed a Ryzen 5700X on a Asus Prime X570-Pro motherboard. It booted without any issues and even installed the Asus sensor module.

The only other problem I've noticed was the GRUB menu was out of order and didn't update with an entry for Kernel 6.1.8.
I fixed it with Grub Customizer and I think it's fixed now because it did add GRUB options for 6.1.9 and 6.1.10.

I noticed that in Info Center if you go to Graphics and OpenCL (EGL) there's a notice that eglinfo is missing. I'm not finding that package in Magiea 9 and eglinfo-8.5.0-1-omv4090.x86_64.rpm from Open Mandriva will fix it. I did find this bug report https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=30348 that has a link to https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=448706 that claims it's fixed and included in Mesa now, but that doesn't appear to be the case here. This does appear to be a KDE problem and not Mageia 9 specifically because apparently they removed eglinfo and made it part of Mesa.
