PPPPoE over Ethernet is not gettting IPv6 address from ISP

Postby ronin » Jan 31st, '23, 01:09

Hello,

In my case my ISP gives both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses when connecting to PPPoE. I tried few linux distributions and I found that most of them get both IPv4 and IPv6 adresses on PPPoE connection over ethernet.
Mageia 9 alpha 1 and Cauldron are still using conversion from IPv6 to IPv4 on PPPoE, not required in some cases anymore.
Is there an option to use real IPv6 assigned from ISP ? If not I think that it needs to be added when setting up PPPoE connection to use real IPv6 from ISP or convert it to IPv4.

Thank you and I hope version 9 will be e better one.
