Missing updates in Cauldron

Postby apimente » Apr 6th, '22, 15:37

Hi,

I've been using Mageia Cauldron for some time now and I've noticed that lately I don't get package updates. Is this just happening to me? Or have updates really not been released?

Cauldron is updated quite frequently compared to the official release. You might try changing your mirror.

It's only you
But know that you don't have notifications as in current release, because only "Core" repositories are updated. In general, "Updates" repositories are void until the distro is released. The rpmdrake GUI doesn't update the packages list from "Core", aven if you can command it explicitely.
To update, you can do in console, as root:
Code: Select all
urpmi --auto-update

But at the moment, if you use Plasma, it is recommended not to update.

Tanks, I use Plasma.

Can you please advise when it is safe to upgrade?

If you use cauldron, you should really follow the dev mailing list: https://ml.mageia.org/l/arc/dev/2022-04/
Cauldron is not for the faint of heart!
Caution: Hot, bubbling magic inside. May explode or cook your kittens!
