Abiword 3.0.0 crashes when save a document as .pdf format

Hello:
I have a document in Abiword 3.0.0 an I try to save it with .pdf format.
The same thing happens when I export the document with .pdf format.
I went to the Abiword page and it said that the stable version of Abiword was 2.8.6.
I tried to search for the Abiword 2.8.6 rpm version for Mageia Cauldron -who is my Linux distro- and I didn't find.

I know this is a problem from Abiword developers, however, I ask Mageia team that in the future realease of Mageia includes a stable version of Abiword, in this case, 2.8.6.

You are aware that cauldron is not a stable nor a released distribution? Read https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Cauldron
As it's the development version, it will contain development releases. Apart from that, abiword-3.0 has been released more then 9 months ago: http://www.abisource.com/downloads/abiw ... .0/source/ - So you should better ask the abiword developers to maybe update their website.

Hello again:
I read the wiki about Mageia Cauldron and it's clear that it is a development version. Also I understood about "Cauldron may break down your computer, eat your data, burn down your house or kill your kittens. You have been warned!"

Also, I know that there are no stable distros Linux at all.
I downoload version 4 in January and Mageia commented that fixed some problems, one of them was about SSL. For these reasons Mageia deliver 4.1 version.
I download version 3 in December 2013.
I download and installed in my computer Mageia 4.1 version and it worked good. I only saw the bug in Abiword 3.0.
However, which is the "more stable" version of Mageia?

P.S. 1. By the way, when you search in Google: Mageia, it answers with the following information:
Mageia 4 is the new, solid, stable Linux distribution from the...
and then you go to to Mageia website to download 4 version. After it, you start to download 4 version.
It never says that it is a development version... I ask Mageia developers that update their website.

Rather confusing to me, but that is probably my problem.

Nevertheless i try, why to download Mageia 4 I(which is the latest stable version yes) twice?

Or do you mean downloading MGA4 first, and then (after it) updating the version?
Anyway, MGA4 for the stable choice, and MGA5 for those who want helping to test our next release.

Version 4.1 applies only to the iso's. They will install Mageia 4. There is no Mageia 4.1 release.

The reason that 4.1 iso's were produced was to fix a bug that prevented the original Mageia 4 iso's from booting on some older equipment. The download page will automatically download the 4.1 iso's, when you choose to download Mageia 4, the current stable release.

I can confirm that in KDE on Mageia 4, abiword does crash if you choose "Save as" a pdf file. As a workaround, choose to "Print" the file as a pdf file. Depending on the DE that you are using, you may need to install cups-pdf to make a virtual pdf printer available.

That bug is for Mageia 3, but the same version of abiword is in Mageia 4 and Mageia 5.

For the version issue, in the initial post you mention cauldron, now you wrote that you installed Mageia 3 and then Mageia 4.
What do you have currently installed? Mageia 4 or cauldron? Please show the output of

See the bugreport that Jim has posted previously, https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11457#c2 mentions that crash did not happen with the current update candidate packages from updates_testing.

That bug report is for mga3. The version that they were testing is the version that is now in mga4. Some of the subsequent comments in that bug report seem to question the findings in comment 2. It gets pretty confusing as to what the testers actually did conclude and the update was never validated. For me this bug (crash on saving as pdf) still exists in mga4 (using KDE on x86_64).

As I wrote in my earlier post, there is an easy work-around (Print to pdf instead of saving).
