Wrong text for KDE System Settings option

Postby ncarver » May 25th, '11, 18:48

I like to be able to resize maximized windows, but when I went to set the effect in (up-to-date) Mageia, it appeared to have been removed. However, it turns out that the text for that option is now incorrect--the option I want is actually still in the same place in the System Settings menus, it simply appears to be gone.

System Settings > Window Behavior > Window Behavior > Moving

Under Windows group, the fourth option now says: Display borders on maximized windows

However, what it is supposed to say is: Allow moving and resizing of maximized windows

That is what is says in Mandriva 2010.2, and that is what it is actually still doing (setting kwinrc to include/not MoveResizeMaximizedWindows=true).

Upstream changed it that way, so if you think this is wrong, file a bug report upstream at https://bugs.kde.org (my guess is it'll be closed as invalid or wontfix).

Another guess is that they probably changed it so that it's not confused with systemsettings -> Workspace Appearance -> Screen Edges -> Window Management -> "Maximize windows by dragging them to the top of the screen".
