RAM error

Postby pmithrandir » May 1st, '12, 18:05

Hello,

Could you check if your total of RAM is correct in the "system manager" of KDE ?

On my side, I have 4 GB in my laptop, but only 2.8 are detected by this application...

MCC recognise 4 GB in the hardware explorer.

Do you have an integrated graphics card that is sharing your memory? If so, then your system could be subtracting the memory its sharing from your system memory total.

I have one... But it seems that it's a lot of memory, just for the video card.. 1.2GB for an intelGMA.. would be crazy.

I will check if there is some set up regarding that.

That's actually quite a common size for shared memory, mostly it's somewhere between 512 MB and 1.5 GB.
