[SOLVED] Huawei e169

I made fresh install of mageia 2 beta1 and network it is totaly broken,kppp can connect huawei e169 but it is not transfering anything from internet,draknet it is not found that huawei says no any device found when try to add settings from mcc to huawei.

Hi.

Don't use kpp or draknet, it never worked with such sticks here...

Use the networkmanager settings.
In a terminal, type:

Code: Select all
nm-connection-editor


and select the Mobile Broadband Tab, add new and follow the assistant.
Don't forget the appropriate APN

Normally this should work, as the stick is already recognized as a modem (so you don't need a separate udev-rule)

If this does not work, you can go the hard way.

There is no nm connection editor,i use kde,beta1 dvd don't have knetworkmanager it is only having gnome applet to networkmanager and it didn't work.

Knetworkmanager same problem it's not transfer anything from internet,it's getting connect but result was same.

Now it's working kppp i needed to add manualy nameserver informations to kppp and now it is working like a dream. :D

I just turned firewall back to on and connection is lost again,it is releated to shorewall or itables or both,do i need to open bug report to bugzilla because it is releated to firewall packages. ???

I just cheked from mandi that there was section nameserver to allow it connect to nameserver that's solved it again now connection works with firewall too.
