[SOLVED] KDE update policy

Hello community members!

I am thinking about moving to Mageia from Kubuntu 12.04, and would like to know what is the policy regarding the inclusion of new KDE SC versions in the repos (e.g. will the upcoming 4.9 be included in Mageia 2?).

Thanks!

I believe the policy is no major changes in a release unless there are security problems.
Mageia 3 /Cauldron of course will have the latest stable versions of most things.

As far as i know plan is to have minor releases, so 4.8.x for Mageia 2.
For the general policy about updates maybe have a look at https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Updates_policy

Thank you both for the reply. Makes sense, as updating to 4.9 could break things amid a release cycle, which wouldn't fit into the philosophy of Mageia.

FWIW, I'm running MGA 3/Cauldron w/KDE 4.84 and haven't had a single KDE issue yet. Looking forward to testing 4.9 when it is added to Cauldron though.
