Hello,

I made a small timeline with some of the main Linux distributions and the origins of Mageia: RedHat/Mandrake (+Conectiva) Mandriva, and distributions derived from Mandrake-Mandriva (and PCLinuxOS). There is news that the Caixa Mágica (from Portugal - text in english) which was derived from Mandriva, is changing to be a derivative of Ubuntu.

Note-1: I edited this timeline in Freemind.

Note-2: link to the same topic in MageiaBrasil, in Portuguese

I'm not sure, but I read on other sites that would be Debian / Ubuntu:

In porguese: Caixa Mágica 16 Beta disponível (UBUNTU) and in english.

In porguese: Caixa Mágica 16 disponível and in english.

In porguese: Lançado o Caixa Mágica 16 beta and in english.
