Artwork for Mageia 3

Postby schultz » Nov 1st, '12, 15:39

Hey everyone,

Its time again to start collecting artwork for Mageia 3, we will be using a flickr drop again which can be found here: http://www.flickr.com/groups/mageia3artworkdrop/

Please remember that the work must be licensed under CC_BY_SA 3, and if other work is used, then it must fall under a appropriate license. Also, the original working file must be able to be provided so that we can do proper scaling.

Well, we look forward to seeing what you come up with.

The Atelier Team.

UPDATE: The deadline for submissions is now the 30th of November, so there is still some time left.

Hello I have a few wallpapers nothing professionals as some here already know.
I had to create two accounts on flickr and I confess there is no worse place to post an image is hard and boring even.

But the images I make are completely made by hand and almost none with use of third party images and always available in GPL at gnome-look, kde-look.org as can be seen here:

http://kde-look.org/usermanager/search. ... n=contents

I'm going to push myself to try posting on flickr, but I think it is difficult.

Good luck!!

Well as I said above we do not get along very well with yahoo accounts.

I've been stopped making wallpapers to be used by those who like it, so here's the links:

You are surprising me again, i give most points for sde452.jpg, but also dr8phg.jpg is great, quite some Mageia-magical-atmosphere.
Keep up the good spirit, you have one fan. ;)

What is this, is that I am a great admirer of yours.

An example, boards Brazilian women is hard to see the forums.

I'm quite amateur in the use of applications gimp, inkscape but sometimes I move out here and there and some things pleasant.

How would the Padula and Macxi: "Let it go!"

I would recommend to have the main logo (+text) revamped. It's looking quite cheap.
The cauldron should be full, not an outline (it's looking bad if not on a white background). And it would add life if it had some texture and contrast. There's nothing wrong with some details on logos as long as they visually blend into the larger masses when the icon is shrinked down.
If possible, I would also have it fit in a square, not a rectangle as it does now because of the bubbles.
I'll try to find time for a draft. But I don't do modern/plastic looking stuff and have never made vector images.
Money is raw power, with lots of it one can influence the world in vast ways. Now who gets big amounts of money? The wisest people? Do we elect them? ...
We are governed by the greedy. I hope it ends someday.

Well I know I can be called to attention here, but it was very annoying to have created a group on flickr and in the end there was nothing used.

Best regards,
Creto.

Good luck in your next versions!

Can you explain a bit more, are your referring to Mageia 1, 2 or 3? And is there some deeper meaning behing your last comment?
Good luck in your next versions!

The reference is to Mageia 3 that was created flickr group for postings of possible wallpapers and which did not serve for anything since art is that the contents of the distro not know where it came from, or at least was announced.

When those who were involved in the flickr group that is full of horrible rules for posting art, were the "see ships".

My quote: "Good luck in your next versions!" that is precisely what want to say
