Add in wiki pages, counter the number of accesses

Hi,

It would be very interesting to add hit counter in for each Mageia Wiki pages.

This week I saw the Blender Wiki, which is made with MediaWiki (the same of Mageia Wiki). It has a hit counter for each page, it has a choice to change version and choice to change language.

I don't know how to implement this proposal, but I'm just making a suggestion.

Hello,

I agree, Mandriva had this useful counter until about 2009 and then erased it. The counter is a good way to know which pages are important and from there which pages must be improved, updated or ... deleted.

Well, we already have this counter, just look at the bottom of the page:

https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Main_Page wrote:This page was last modified on 22 September 2012, at 02:44.
This page has been accessed 159,645 times.

For the rest, this should be discussed with -doc team and sysadmins ...

Doktor5000,
That's great. I did not see.
I think this is an important tool to know what kind of documentation the people seek more. Is very good to know that this tool has in Mageia wiki.
Tks

Hi,
I didn't know either, but this force to open every page to make comparison between them for example. In the former Mandriva tool, it was possible to extract the most seen pages. I am going to speak about that with doc team.

OK Popular pages !! I saw this title without understanding what it meant. In the statistics page, there is the same thing under another name : Most viewed pages. I prefer that one.

Hi,
With the Mageia wiki update, there are no more view counters or visit counters from the wiki pages.
I remember that it is a very useful tool for evaluating the interest or disinterest in certain subjects.
I'm glad the wiki is up to date, and this visit counter is not a priority tool, it's just useful,
But it will be very good when it is possible to reactivate the hit counter.

Hi macxi,
It is a feature we can ask when the wiki is back and Mageia 6 released. For now I think it is not a priority.
