Farewell to a colleague and changes at blogdrake

It is with great sadness that the blogdrake community must say goodbye to a colleague and friend.

We knew him in these circles as asinkecualo/asinkeBOFH, his name was Felix Martos Trenado.

We learned of his passing through a Facebook post.

I did not have the pleasure of meeting him in person, but I did communicate with him electronically.

His passing also marks the end of an era at blogdrake, as he was responsible for the domains blogdrake.net and ftp.blogdrake.net, where our repository was hosted.

For us as a site, this means that after November 27, 2027, the blogdrake.net domain will expire, and we will not be able to renew it. I do not know if we will be able to recover it in the future.

Measures are being taken to use the blogdrake.org domain, and traffic from blogdrake.net will begin to be redirected to blogdrake.org.

For our repository, this has meant the loss of an important part of our history, as only the mageia9 directory was backed up on the server that will serve as our new home and which until now served only as a BS for our packages.
