I am sorry to tell you that I am leaving Mageia after many years. I know you are doing a great job and Mageia and is one of the best distros around. I will follow Mageia throughout the years to come and will return as soon as this feature suggestion is implemented , https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33810. I believe it is a fair feature request and perhaps every other graphical package manger implements in one way or another. I hate saving the confirmation dialogue manually, I believe it should be done automatically for me. I tried dnfdragora but it is too slow and now I understand why you prefer urpmi ,and I prefer as it well.
I understand you have a small manpower but if I were you I would have compromised some goals to make the project more manageable for the small team that you are.For example , I would have dropped support for 32 bit computers which I believe should belong to the museum by now . I may have even considered dropping support for one or two desktop environments , enlightenment for a start , which is too difficult to use , and, may be, even gnome , which does not follow traditional desktop layout , even though it is great for tablets.But this is all subject to people's opinions. And then there is the MADb , which took you 3000 lines of code , which I will rarely use since I , like most users, use drakerpm for installing and uninstalling apps. I can already search for packages in pkgs.org. Anyway I am not going to argue with the goals of Mageia team , and I know you are very busy fixing bugs and upgrading packages. But I am out and I may return in the future. I can continue using mageia forever but I know nothing will happen about it .Great job anyway for the quality of Mageia distro.

I'm sorry to see you leave. I can understand your frustration, but it seems a pretty trivial reason to leave. As you can see from my signature I have been here from Mandrake all the way to Mageia. I haven't really missed having a rpm log.

But, good luck with your future endeavors.

Not sure how (not) having logs from the graphical package manager is a reason to return/leave a distro, but whatever.

List history of installed packages (most recent version only) since the installation of Mageia:

A more fine-grained history (for all packages since Mageia installation) including which program triggered installation/removal can be seen with the following command run as root (or grant your user journalctl permissions, just add your user to the systemd-journal group)

same as above, but limited to all packages installation/removal since the last two boots:

Thanks a lot Germ . And good luck to as you well! A transactional log is a better replacement to the autoremove command . If you install , say task-cinnamon, and you decide you do not want it anymore, you can track the transaction log and remove it and its dependencies. Sometimes I forget to save the dependencies list manually. Here are a few screenshots of an apt based distro :

I love Mageia a lot and I would love to see this feature is implemented, whether during Mageia 10 ,11 ,or 12. And @doktor5000 , a graphical log organized by transaction won't hurt and may benefit other people as well. I studied basic programing concepts a long time ago . To implement it I think you may need to create an sqlite table with two columns at least . Once you press ok on the dependencies confirmation dialogue box , it is immediately saved in the second column , with line breaks, titled by the time and date of the transaction in the first column. Or may be an xml file is better suited for such thing. Or just a log file, like the one I attaching with the post. And you do not have to go far, dnfdragora implements it . You know programing much better than me. Time is ahead of us . I wish all the best for you trying to preserve a great system . If a simple graphicl feature like this is implemented throughout the years to come in one way or another, I may return.

Not really, as this is implemented by dnf itself. dnf/yum have had their history features for years.

So instead of leaving Mageia, consider changing to DNF.

I did and I found dnf to be too slow. Now I understand why you are sticking to urpmi and I believe it is a great decision. Look, I love Mageia a lot and I love the hard working community behind, I will always follow Mageia news and try its new releases. The control center, for example, is a masterpiece. If I were you I would have focused more on the control center, added features to it, like the one I am suggesting, and even considered porting it to qt5.
And like I mentioned in my first post,if I were you, I would have stopped supporting 32 bit to save time and energy. I would have stopped supporting every desktop environment around . Even the popular distros at the top distrowatch ranking do not support every desktop environment , they are only supplied to them through the debian base. They focus more on their tools. In Mx Linux for example, I get updates regarding their tools almost every weak. And I do not understand the purpose behind MADB . They do not care much about having web app db.
The problem is not the fact that you are a small team. The problem is goal compromising. If I were you I would be having only :
- a wiki , and you have an excellent one.
- a forum .
- a more modern bug tracking platform than bugzilla , say github.
- maintain only six desktop environment : kde ,cinnamon, mate, xfce, lxqt and lxde.
- and support only 64 bit, both amd and arm.
Anyway, all I care about is a urpmi package manager that features a transactional log , and I know from experience that I could wait forever for it to happen and never happen.

Everybody have different needs and interests.
I use 32 bit with LXDE and Xfce as dualboot companion for old MSWindows machines i need for old programs needed for servicing some old machines.
