I have a friend, who is near blind because of car accident two years ago. He worked for at least 15 years in IT department as Linux admin. I want to help him to "back in life". So I am looking for a people with experience with Braille support devices for Linux. It is important because such devices (especially displays) are extremely expensive. So I want to buy him maybe expensive but real good equipment with full support under Linux. Can anybody exchange such experience with me?

FWIW, here's a list of supported braille displays: http://mielke.cc/brltty/details.html#displays
Also, there are quite a lot of points to consider in here: https://canasstech.com/blogs/news/what- ... le-display

Only other sort-of review of a braille display I've found is this: https://blind.guru/tag/braille-display.html

This could also be interesting: https://media.ccc.de/v/emf2016-176-canu ... le-display
