Need some mentoring for packaging a Java application

I've packages freeplane.sf.net, a Java application. The package works fine on my system, but I would appreciate some mentoring to get the finishing touch.

My concrete questions are:

My concrete questions are:
- Is the handling of desktop- and mime-files and icons correct?
- For Debian there is a "sharemimeinfo" available. How to handle this file in %post?
- Do I need to specify additional build- or install-requirements, e.g. jarbundler. jpackage-utils or hicolor-icon-theme?
Beside this, any tip is welcome
