Porting and make a package for Mageia

Postby jeevanism » Oct 4th, '12, 10:58

Hello All,

I am ardent fan of Gnome 2, just like millions of other, me also in middle of the sea now. I dont want to go to KDE, gnome 3 is hopless and XFCE is too much junior. I am happy to know about Mate and Cinnamon but sad that they are not available in Mageia yet. So I think I can build the package of them for Mageia.

Can any one just show me a step-by-step process for building a package from source code for Mageia?. What are the required tools, I should have installed in my mageia?

thanx a lot for any response.

jeevanism,

My suggestion is you join Packages Team and see the texts:
- Becoming_a_Mageia_Packager
- Packaging_for_beginners

As you know, it seems that there is already a team working on it for Mageia 3 (see here)
