I think it would be better to open a package request bug report at https://bugs.mageia.org, because it might get lost here.
Perhaps I can have a look at it after Mga1 (we are in full freeze) and backport it. Please open the bug report so I won't forget...

i filed a request for it at

https://bugs.mageia.org/post_bug.cgi

=++++=======================

by the way there is a package for the last version of it at MIB repo

so i decided to install it from there

and when i try to do that it suggested to me that i need to install LibCg.so

and cauldron didn't have that package

so i installed it from cooker repo

Hi
You have already post a bug report. This bug report is used to give a hint for packagers (those who take the source, write a SPEC, sort of respice and send the whole to the build system that produces packages).
They will package this program into a RPM and you will be able to download it
But currently, there are preparing Mageia 1 release, you may wait for sometime before the availability of this package.

And Mandriva uses RPM5, not the 5th version of RPM, it is different. It can be incompatible etc. The name RPM5 is very confusing.

Asking for a package to be built is like standing on the side of a road, trying to hitch a ride. The drivers passing by do not need an excuse.
Keep asking.

Don't bother yourself with PCSX2 unless you're some kind of masochist :)
The Linux version is way behind Windows one.
For start you'll need a really powerful computer (quad core or one of those monster i5/7 Intel processors to be able to run a game at a reasonable speed.
Secondly, the graphic plugin for Linux has a very low compatibility with most of the games. You have to be really lucky to actually run a game with PCSX2 in Linux. Most of the time you'll only see some kind of weird distorted image crawling on screen.

((There is some hope though...but not quite easy to go there.
There is an experimental graphic plugin for Linux called GSDX using SDL 1.3.
Problem is, SDL 1.3 is still unstable and no distro has it.
PCSX can be custom compiled to use an internal SDL 1.3 but it will conflict [at run time] with WX* packages which are using the regular SDL.
So, you'll need WX* packages compiled removing --with-sdl and then PCSX compiled with internal SDL.

GSDX is missing some features [no antialiasing] but it has a 99% compatibility and is reasonable fast, also with SDL 1.3 you'll have force-feedback support for your joystick.

As I said, not quite simple))

Yes libzzogl, the Opengl plugin and the only one unfortunately (well...except that experimental GSDX).

As for the working very well part...that's not quite so. All you can say about libzzogl is that sometimes it works if you're lucky. Most of the time it doesn't or it works very bad.
I don't have to ask MIB members, I watch PCSX2 progress very closely and I test every new version since around January this year.
Until now I compiled and tested hundreds of releases, I started at around release 4200 and the current one is 4917, so I kinda know if libzzogl works and how.

I have a big stash of PS2 DVD games since my real PS2 broke (The red screen of death) and I would love to play them on PC with anti aliasing/high resolution and all the eye-candy, but it isn't quite possible yet (on Linux ). There are a number of games that do work but you'll still need a very powerful computer for that.
For the moment the only real option is GSDX SDL plugin but like I said above, is not easy and still experimental (software only).

Reading the disc is not a real issue for Linux or Windows (the common practice is to backup the disc and use the ISO, a much faster method).

Resident Evil 4 is playing very well in Windows, around 460 FPS with good crisp graphics, while in Linux at best you get 40 FPS and the graphics are in fact some weird squares resembling nothing.

I don't have the other games to try.
