Spec files

Reading the wiki pages about packaging, I see Mageia has a detailed policy about how to set out a spec file for readability and easy maintenance. Do you have packages currently which don't comply with those guidelines? If so, is that something that a not-very-techie user could help with, going through some spec files and tidying them up?

There are some, but those are mostly the "more complicated" ones and I think it's better for the packager working with them to tidy them up, while updating the package in question.

Most packages have already been tidied up, and minor/major cosmetic changes have also been applied, the rest is as Oliver says.

If you want some easy tasks, please have a look at https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Packagers_Ho ... pprentices
Another good candidate would be https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2449

I thought I'd already replied to this, but it's not showing.

Thank you for your replies, but I think I'll leave packaging well alone and help in other ways!

Well, the Artwork team, QA team or Marketing and Communications teams all struggle to get more volunteers, maybe you want to take a look at http://www.mageia.org/en/contribute/ or https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Contributing
