Looks like the C based version is out officially. There is a package for it in the Mandriva repositories, would it be possible to package this for Mageia as well? I would think it shouldn't be too hard if it's already in Mandriva. I would offer to do it but I know nothing about building packages.

We're already on it, should be included in Mageia 2.

Will that be Ironhide?
Ironhide is supposed to have a GUI.

No, it's bumblebee 2.99 and 3.0 will be out shortly. Have a look at: https://lists.launchpad.net/hybrid-grap ... 02031.html
for an explanation about what's what.

Note: The above bumblebee installation does not turn off the nvidia card when it's not being used which can use up a lot of power just sitting there doing nothing, I got switching the card on and off working in the following way.
WARNING: Turning the card off means you will need to restart before bumblebee optirun can work again.

All I want to do is to turn off the Nvdia card,I hope this will help. But I don't know if this will cause problems when shutting down. And bumblebee is much easier,I think. But, bumblebee on mageia doesn't turn off the N card??Thats really bad news!

Please, why do you have to use fullquotes instead of a plain reply which is just 2 lines long?

Hi,

I tried packages from russian mageia community (Bumblebee,Primus,dkms-bbswitch) and it works. I must only check the glx problem (see the howto message of blosomax here). But as I said on another thread, I would prefer official packages rather than unofficial packages.

Repeating this here again won't make maintainers appear magically ...
If you want them, feel free to learn about RPM packaging and maintain them yourself for Mageia if you want them so bad: https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Becoming_a_Mageia_Packager
