[gelöst] Einbinden eines 10TB RAID-Volumen schlägt fehl

Ich versuche ein gut 10TB großes RAID5 Volumen einzubinden, aber drakhardware erkennt diese "Festplatte" nicht richtig. Was kann ich machen? Das RAID ist über einen LSI SAS-HBA angeschlossen.

Als "Nicht-Engländer" verstehe ja ich die Meldung!

Da Du hier eine gpt-Partitionstabelle benutzen mußt, kann das m.E. Mageia nicht interpretieren.
Es sei denn, Du tauschst den Grub-legacy gegen den Grub2 aus.

Sicherlich kann Dir da der dok genaueres sagen (auch, ob ich richtig liege ).

Wie kann ich mit Mageia von grub nach grub2 "upgraden" - falls dies die Lösung ist? Den grub2 finde ich nicht in den standardmäßig aktivierten Repositories.

Kann ich den grub2 überhaupt gefahrlos auf einem Hardware-RAID10 als Boot-Device installieren? Die Boot-Partition selbst ist mit ext3 formatiert.

Vielleicht sollte ich noch erwähnen, dass es sich bei dem 10TB RAID5-Volumen um eine über SAS angeschlossene "Festplatte" handelt. Intern beherbergt der Rechner ein Hardware RAID10 (ca. 1TB), auf dem sich auch die Boot-Partition befindet.

Ein Artikel im Linux-Magazin brachte die Lösung (http://www.linux-magazin.de/Heft-Abo/Ausgaben/2011/08/GPT). Nach der Installation von gdisk konnte ich plötzlich über das Mageia-Kontrollzentrum auf die "Festplatte" zugreifen, sie partitionieren und formatieren. Ohne jegliche Fehlermeldung.

Vielleicht könnte gdisk standardmäßig mit installiert werden, denn dann könnten riesige Festplatten automatisch erkannt und bearbeitet werden. Mageia 2 habe ich allerdings noch nicht ausprobiert und weiß daher nicht ob dies dort schon der Fall ist...

gdisk ist in Mageia2 - Cauldron enthalten.

Jeder Datenträger über 2,2TB muss GPT-formatiert werden, sonst is Essig, soweit ich weiß. Nur momentan kann diskdrake unter Mageia 1 damit nicht 100% korrekt umgehen, siehe auch https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3091 Wurde aber für Mageia 2 schon behoben. Ob Grub Legacy oder Grub 2 ist Wurscht, für Grub Legacy gibt es auch eine Lösung: http://www.wensley.org.uk/gpt

Und Mageia 1 kann nicht mehr aktualisiert werden, was die Installationsdatenträger angeht, also auch die Standard-Paketauswahl nicht geändert werden. Sollte ja aber kein Problem sein mittels gparted o.ä. vorher zu partitionieren
