https://wiki.mageia.org/en/CauldronUnter 2:
How to update to Mageia Cauldron
NOTE If you are updating from Mageia 2 to Cauldron, you must first prepare your current system in order to handle the /usr move. This involves installing a package to create a special boot option that actually performs the necessary changes. See the Mageia 3 Release Notes for more information.
To upgrade from a stable release to it, type the following commands as root
urpmi.removemedia -a
to remove all your current urpmi repositories.
After that, you need to add the cauldron repositories. If you have a 32-bit machine
urpmi.addmedia --distrib --mirrorlist 'http://mirrors.mageia.org/api/mageia.cauldron.i586.list'
If you have an x86-64 machine:
urpmi.addmedia --distrib --mirrorlist 'http://mirrors.mageia.org/api/mageia.cauldron.x86_64.list'
And then:
urpmi --auto-update --auto

Kevin
